Post offices in Moscow region and Krasnodar territory started accepting payments from clients of cellular, satellite TV and Internet providers through CyberPlat® payment system. In the near future this service will be available in post offices of other Russian regions.

During fall 2004 Russian Post together with CyberPlat®.Com conducted a pilot project in Moscow Regional Department of Federal Postal Service - an affiliated company of FSUE Russian Post, during which 15 cash payment outlets have been opened in local post offices.

Payments to clients' accounts are accepted in real time and without commission. The whole procedure consists of filling in a special form, paying money to the cashier and getting a receipt. Money transfer to the client's account takes just a few seconds. Transaction security is guaranteed by both sides' electronic signatures.

Acceptance of cash payments from the public through CyberPlat® is one more step on the way to diversification and unification of postal services, construction and development of a uniform information and telecommunications environment of Russian Post - says Russian Post CEO Igor Syrtsov - "This service became possible due to the development of Internet access network at local post offices under the CyberPost@ project. Pilot project in the Moscow region showed demand for the new service, and economic effect from it. At present 11 cities in Russia develop post office payment outlets, new technologies, providing for wider post office coverage, are being developed.

Chairman of of "Platina" Bank, which owns CyberPlat®, Andrey Gribov, noted: "The speed of development and upgrading of Russian Post's technological outfit are really impressive. Use of computers, providing post offices with access to Internet and recruitment of skilled personnel made cooperation between Russian Post and CyberPlat® possible. Our joint project made immediate adding money to client's accounts available to people in all inhabited areas of Moscow and Kuban regions.
