Ten years with the CyberPlat® payment system

March 18, 1998 — ten years ago — the CyberPlat® payment system effected its first payment through the Internet.

This payment was effected in favor of Garant-Park company. It became not only the first payment in the history of CyberPlat® system but it was the first electronic financial transaction through the Internet in the history of Russia, carried out in a secured mode. Since that time there began a new history of electronic commerce development in Russia.

At present, the CyberPlat® payment system has formed the largest in Russia and CIS countries network of payment outlets. By the beginning of March, 2008, the total number of the CyberPlat® system payment outlets comprised over 115 000, and inclusive of the sub-dealer outlets — more than 160 000. Concurrently, the main turnover of the CyberPlat® payment system is formed by means of accepting cash through the retail and dealer networks, as well as through the networks of cash-in terminal, bank branches and departments and ATMs.

For all 10 years of operating in the e-payment market CyberPlat® company has been showing a dynamic and stable growth of its key performance indicators – the number of transactions, the turnover and the number of payment acceptance outlets. In the aggregation, these indicators make CyberPlat® an irrefutable leader in the payment market in Russia and CIS countries.

Just in 2007, 1 billion 250 million payments were processed via the universal payment system CyberPlat®. According to the experts’ estimations, by the volume of daily processed payments, CyberPlat® multiply exceeds in number of its transactions the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, Sberbank, and international payment systems VISA and MasterCard in Russia together.

Every month over 100 million citizens receive services via the CyberPlat® payment system – which is more than two thirds of the total Russian population. Hence, one can notice that the CyberPlat® payment system practically became a part of everyday life for all Russians.

In 2007 the system’s total turnover comprised 120.7 bln. roubles (or $4.74 bln.). This is around 25% of the turnover of all mobile operators in Russia together. The CyberPlat® payment system, during the past years has been repeatedly marked by diplomas and awards from the top communications operators and has been taking the leading positions by the volumes of accepted payments.

For the last 5 years, the annual turnover increase of the CyberPlat® electronic payment system was at least 80 %. The CyberPlat® has been displaying a stable growth during the whole period of its activity, continuously reinforcing its indisputable leadership position. This dynamic growth of its performance main indicators is achieved by the constant implementation of new products and technologies in the market.

For several years, the CyberPlat® payment system has been working not only in Russia but in the international arena as well. The company’s business has been successfully developing in the territory of Kazakhstan, the Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
