CyberPlat and Western Union team to offer global mobile top-up

Moscow, 20 October 2008 – CyberPlat®, the largest integrated broad-based multibank Internet payment system in Russia, and Western Union, a global leader in international money transfer services, today announced an agreement to provide a mobile top-up service for Beeline, MTS and Megafon subscribers. Top-up will be available outside Russia at all Western Union locations in which the Western Union® Quick Pay SM service. Quick Pay is offered at more than 170 000 participating Agent locations in more than 200 countries and territories of the world.

Now all Russians who find themselves abroad will be able to make a mobile top-up in almost any country of the world the same easy and convenient way they do at home.

To top up their personal mobile account, one has to:
  • Go to a participating Western Union Agent location providing the Quick Pay service*;
  • Fill in a form, in which in block letters specify the name CYBERPLAT and the name of the mobile operator: CYBERPLAT MTS, CYBERPLAT BEELINE or CYBERPLAT MEGAFON;
  • Provide your mobile telephone number (ten digits in all);
  • Specify the amount to be paid.

* To find out which Western Union locations offer the Quick Pay service, consumers can call Customer Service Centers in the country they are visiting or go to http://www.payment-solutions.com

Western Union charges a service fee in accordance with the tariffs scale developed within the framework of the agreement with CyberPlat.

For many years Western Union has been providing a mobile top-up service to its consumers in the USA through its Agent network. The new alliance with payment system CyberPlat will allow Western Union to offer this service to its Russian consumers.

Prior to the signing of the agreement with Western Union, the CyberPlat network comprised more than 200 000 points in Russia and the CIS. Now thanks to the alliance with Western Union, the number of points of service connected to the Cyberplat system has increased dramatically, exceeding the 370 000 mark.

Cyberplat payment system expanded outside Russia a long time ago. We are operating in the CIS countries. Having signed the agreement with Western Union we became the first Russian payment system with a global outreach. We set up and developed the market of instant mobile top-up services in the CIS.
